Blocks on certain words

Blocks on certain words Hi all — it’s my first time posting on here and I’m looking for resources. For the past 10 years, I’ve had a mild (but frustrating and embarrassing) speech issue. Basically, I cannot verbalize certain words (or syllables), but they are never the same. For example: I was asked for my birthdate on the phone; I could say “19” but not “97.” At work, I tried to use the word “rotation” but I couldn’t say it out loud. I’ve gotten used to swapping words as soon as I feel that I can’t say the specific word. If there’s no good swap, I just can’t speak: I look away, brow furrowed, and try to make my mouth say the word. Sometime, someone kindly says it for me, and the ordeal is over. This happens about 1-5 times per day. When I went to a generalist doctor once to talk about it, the speech issue never presented itself. So, the doctor didn’t know what to do. Has anyone experienced this phenomenon? Is there a name for it? Do you have resources that have helped you overcome it or the name of a specialist?
