Stuttering at work Just venting I guess….I have speech blocks. Most people recommend to substitute the word you struggle with if you can. But I can’t do that. At my job I have a specific set of phrases I have to say in certain circumstances and I have to say them exactly as they are. The first word of the phrase I have to say is a word I block on frequently. My problem is I practice the word and the phrase while driving to and from work. And I can almost always say it no problem at all. But as soon as I get to work I block on it again. This makes me think it for sure is almost like “performance anxiety” because I know people will know if I stutter. Compared to when I practice in the car there is no pressure because I’m alone and in turn I almost never block. So how do I condition myself to “not care” and have the confidence to not worry if I block at work so I can get over this? Are there any tips or tricks?
