Stuttered so badly at work I just finished my 2nd week at my first waitressing job. I’ve been enjoying it and it’s been great to practice building confidence talking to customers. But today was awful. Two older women came in and after I took their order they asked my name and it took me 4 attempts to say my name. I didn’t even get my name out in the end and just agreed with the name they thought I gave them. I hadn’t felt so humiliated in so long. I went back to the kitchen and hit myself in the head a few times. I truly made me feel awful. I also feel hopeless cause I don’t know when I’ll ever be able to pronounce my name. My name is Saoirse which is pronounced as seer-sha. I can’t get past the first S. It’s been like this since I was 10 and I’m so tired.
