My stutter started on age 17, so I'd been a fluent person for most of my student life. My dad is also a PWS. He had been my main caretaker for my childhood, taking me to and from the school, cooking, cleaning the house, etc. We had many interactions throughout the day. And the thing is - I'd never realized that he stuttered until I myself started to stutter! Now that I became a PWS and know the nuances of it, I can see that he sometimes blocks a little, substitutes words, gets a bit hurried and loud when talking on the phone, etc. But I never thought too much of it before. The only thing I noticed was his loudness on phones (I'd told him to speak quieter so as not to disturb others, not knowing about his situations @@) So, I guess as long as you are confident and don't let stutter define you, others won't define you with it either.
