Hello! I am a 18-year-old Brazilian stutterer and I have an honest question to do. You said that we shouldn't let stuttering be the reason of the negative things in our lives. But how can I do that if stuttering is indeed the reason of the negative things that happen in my life? I mean, I'd love to socialize and talk to people of my age as they talk to each other, but I can't. Why? Because I stutter everytime I try to do this. I can't have a deep and fun conversation with people because of my lack of communication, which will impact when trying to get new friends I'd love to do presentations in my graduation as all of my classmates and normal people do, but I can't. Why? Because I stutter everytime and it's ruins my presentation. Plus, certainly I would be mocked by people because of this. I'd love to get a well-paid job and advance in the enterprise as all normal people are able to do, but I can't. Why? Because most of well paid jobs, at least in Brazil, are positions that you have to talk a lot and also have a leader's communication. The consequence is recruiters refusing me in job interviews due to my stuttering because they think I'm not capable of doing these jobs or being promoted in the company And another several things that stuttering prevent us from doing or at least makes 'em quite harder. When I try to socialize with people or doing a job that I have to talk to someone, It will never be as good as a normal person would do. So, knowing that stuttering makes us unable to do several ordinary things, how it cannot be the reason of most negative things in our lives?
