I'm a CTO of a company I helped found with a couple of my colleagues. It's a small company so my title doesn't really matter though. I have to say I do not regret going down the career of a software engineer. It's pretty chill most of the time in terms of social interactions. When I have to have meeting with other engineers and clients, it's normally very sparse and fairly easy to manage. And since I'm an engineer, no one really expects small talk from me so there are generally other people from my company that makes the small talk while I just listen and access from a technical standpoint. During standups or internal meetings, no one really gives 2 shits that I stutter. Engineers are pretty socially awkward but they are also very nice people once you get to know them.
