I would, but don't do it as an apology, just a fact. It is something that, if they don't know about it, they may think is something else like lack of conviction in your answers. As many people have said, I also disagree with your teacher, but I have met a very few teachers who have handled a stutterer in class well. What ever you choose, good luck!
