Situational problem I only really seem to stutter in the following situations: - meeting new people - giving interviews - presenting in front of groups - networking and pandering to people for things career-related The stutter appears in the form of: - repeating myself (repeating stutter) - sometimes starting sentences with vowels (repeating stutter, block stutter) - words that start with H (block stutter) I don’t stutter/very rarely when: - speaking with friends (98% fluent) -speaking with family (100% fluent) - ordering food/doing menial tasks that require communication (95% fluent) - meaningful conversations about topics of interest: economics, machine learning, sports (100% fluent) When I take Ativan, my stutter is reduced considerably in the first set of situations I’ve listed. Blocks are minimal, stutter is rather mild. I’ve tried therapy, hypnosis, etc. Doesn’t seem to work. Meditation might have some accumulative effect. Some days I feel like my stutter is dissipating but then when I have some networking events/meet new people it comes back. Thoughts?
