Will making new friends be hard to do as someone who stutters?

Will making new friends be hard to do as someone who stutters? Hey there everyone. I (16m) recently finished school and am in the time of getting ready for college. However the main thing that us on my mind is meeting new people and making new friends. Right now I would say I have no friends as the friends I had in school I found out were a bunch of jerks and would pick on people and even make fun of my stutter behind me back. Because of this I'm under the influence that college will be the same and it will forever be hard to actually make new friends because of my stutter.
