The way I looked at it was I need to get a job that is going to force me to talk. My first three jobs before required as little human interaction as possible. Stocker at grocery stores, things like that. But I decided that I was going to get a job that was the complete opposite, becuase if I dont practice, my life will always be like this. My new job not only encouraged communication, it demanded it. I had to scream across crowed rooms and and do a lot of talking back and forth. Ive been at my job for 7 years now. I also learned to talk to people more fluently. my stutter has gotten leaps and bounds better. I made friends at my work place. My first 3 jobs I didnt make a single friend. All of this was practice that I couldnt imagine my life without. Not going for the safe job might be the best decision of my life so far.
