For one night I felt totally cured when I was young and someone told me that there is another way to speak through a different tube or something, I think he meant diaphram but I mistook it as just a different way to get the vocals through.  It was the craziest placebo effect, I felt totally cured talking with my friends all night about it and anything.  That this was even possible for a time made me realize there can be a mindset strong enough to overcome the miscomings we may be born with.  Even if not ever lasting, hard to ignore the effect that had on me that night and just chalk it up entirely.
