Speech therapy was valuable to me because I learned techniques like easy onset and light contact, which still work to get me out of bad blocks. Also, speech therapy is, well, therapeutic. It was nice to have a weekly session in which I could vent about stuttering to someone who understood where I was coming from. Speech therapy will not cure your stutter. Feel free to report any speech therapist who claims they can. But once you accept that the therapy is there to help you, not cure you, its benefits become clearer.
