I believe this is the study you're referring to: [https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11192511/](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11192511/) To sum it up, on an EEG there was increased beta power in the R-PreSMA preceding a stuttering moment. The greater the beta power the greater the severity of stuttering. What this means is that before a stuttering moment occurs the inhibitory control network is overactive. I can talk more about how I interpret the study with respect to the overall circuitry involved if anyone's interested.
