It's acceptable of course and there's nothing to be shamed about if you have a severe stutter but let's be real, it will make your life harder most of the time (of course, you can choose a profession where it's not a problem, but it's still won't be easy). That's why I don't believe those "happy stutterers" who insist that stuttering doesn't bother them at all. My message was that improvement is possible and while "stuttering has no cure" is the universally accepted "mantra" these days, you can still strive to speech more smoothly and easily.
