Also try speech therapy with someone who mostly treats stutterers. Things that helped me were releasing a small amount of breath first, prolonging the first syllable, and doing a little fake stutter (I mean on purpose) fairly often. My stuttering increases if I WORRY about making a good impression meeting someone new. If I just focus on them, rather than on me, on my task of helping them with their problem, I’m much more fluent. I’ve made my living (a very enjoyable one) listening and talking.
