I’ve decided it’s because there is some gate in our brains that when we communicate with others trips our stutter. As you know you will have good and bad days of communication but what’s important is to always be kind with yourself in your head and you must not care about the outcomes. If we could stop we would. It goes far beyond methods or reasoning. The more you embrace your stutter the less it will embrace you. I have come to terms that when speaking with others it’s a “different” brain that switches on. I stutter a lot with 4,s and 5,s. Recently I have been making my lips push out when I say 4 like “fwor” and five I can say “I’ve” so I’ve been practicing just saying “fff” then switching gears to “I’ve” works sometimes and I have more success saying 4 definitely. Also really important to not drink or smoke because it’s not the same brain and anything practiced while doing so goes away when the substance goes away. Not sure if you struggle with that but i did. So stay sober and nice to yourself in your own head and just know that it will suck sometimes. It’s a long process but hang in there. Don’t be down too long my friend
