Thank you for your post. Policing is a very macho world. The shit talk that goes on is non-stop and relentless. It’s all in good fun though and no one has ever talked about my stutter (at least not to my face) Once I was giving directions out during a pursuit, and my mind is racing about getting the plate number to dispatch and the direction of flight as the car is turning down streets. I fumbled a bit and the car got away (we have a strict chase policy so it had NOTHING to do with me). A guy on my team later was giving me shit about my directions, but I honestly don’t think he thought it was stuttering, just that I was kinda turned around (which was partially true, the stuttering doesn’t help though)
