Editor in chief of a special interest magazine. Worked as editor and reporter in community newspapers for several years before. Journalism was a gauntlet but got me over fearing my stutter. I still stutter just as bad or possibly even worse at 30 now, but I’ve been there done that so many times it’s no longer a big deal. The only way it ever affected my work is if it caused me to delay calling or approaching someone, or if they couldn’t understand me, in which case I clarified I stutter and worked with them through it. Edit: I have my own office now and do 95% of my interviews in person, but I worked in a few open offices where everyone can hear you. Yeah stuttering in front of the whole room sucks, but people respect you for doing your job. I believe it has helped me professionally and I’ve made good career progress. If I’m hammering the phones getting stuff done despite my obvious challenge, what excuse does the guy next to me have? In that way, you can kinda do the same work as someone else but look better at the same time.
