I think chatting/texts have become very informal and casual. What is written in chat people unfortunately don't take it very seriously, for both the texter and the reader. Don't know how and why it happened, but unfortunately it is. Like if it is some serious or urgent matter people will still want to call you to confirm even if you have messaged them.
