I think it varies stutterer to stutterer. Personally, I would be fine someone help me out with a word I am blocked on if I am really struggling. But just be mindful of it, too much of it will be disrespectful. I would say if your friend is really stuck next time, go ahead and help him. Then gauge his reaction or talk to him. I don't think a single incident would really break your friendship.
