Sometimes there are delayed auditory feedback devices that allow people to stop stuttering. They don't work forever though, but they can give you a sense of "fluent speech" which then in turn makes speech therapy exercises much easier for you because you have a feeling of fluency. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuO3DbnQjxE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuO3DbnQjxE) Towards the end the guy uses the device but I think the whole video is good. My grad school teacher showed us this video of the SpeechEasy device. As per my teacher, this device will NOT work forever (your brain gets used to it even after adjusting the device eventually) but it CAN help you to better learn how to use fluency techniques for when you are not using the device. Also, stuttering is a cycle. The more anxious about it you become, the more likely you are to stutter. Your mindset and emotions towards it do have quite the influence on your fluency. Also I can't believe some of the comments below, I have never seen these types of comments on this subreddit before.
