I commented before but I wanted to add something. Be very careful about avoiding events due to your stutter. It only reinforces this behavior and convinces yourself that avoidance is necessary. I’m 42 and have been stuttering for probably 30 years. My stutter is very mild now and probably not even noticeable to most people that don’t know me well. I only saw improvement when I stopped doing things like avoiding situations that made me feel uncomfortable. I found that when I avoided situations like this I would feel very guilty about avoiding them. Sometimes those guilty feelings are even worse than the discomfort or anxiety you may feel by attending.
