which pws are privileged? I attended a stuttering seminar. The researcher referred to anyone Caucasian as "privileged." I ask: "Can someone with a disability be considered privileged?" If stuttering is considered a disability, can I also be privileged? Can someone is a Caucasian who started stuttering after a brain injury be in the "privileged" category of research? I would like to think that a disability automatically removes you from the so-called privilege category. When I am at a support group meeting or NSA conference, for example, I'd like to think we who stutter are equal in our journey. Any thoughts?
