Hello SpeechQuest, I have stuttered since I started speaking. Developmental stuttering all the way. It wasn't too bad until puberty hit and I started becoming more aware of it. I have always had "perfectionist" tendencies and it kills me that I can't change it. I was in therapy in elementary school and for a short time in high school and college. It did not help much. I feel like it's easy to speak fluently with a specialist, especially if you're paying them. Therapy and real life are different things. Can I ask you why you are so interested in studying stuttering? I am interested in stuttering because I stutter, I feel like if I didn't have that emotional bond I wouldn't give it the time of day. Thank you.
