What I am saying is that the biological / genetic causes for stuttering fall under one roof and allow us to be more objective about stuttering. There are some impressive studies on genetics of stuttering. Genetics isn’t the whole picture currently, only a piece of the puzzle that points us to the direction to focus on. I can send you some references if you’d like. I’m glad that you received remission for weeks/months, but the goal I have is more lofty then that. Essentially, I want to be equipped to address stuttering in my child and the future generations to come. I don’t want my children to go through what I and millions of others around the world have gone through and continue to do. I believe we can only achieve this goal by addressing the causal mechanisms. I am optimistic about this. This says nothing about a cure, cures don’t exist in medicine, at all. However, as someone as enthusiastic about stuttering as I am, I am sure you can understand my perspective.
