Hi there. First of all thank you for reaching out. So much wisdom here and I very much agree with what has been advised. I would wholeheartedly agree to reach out and seek support/guidance from speech and language therapist. Agreed also, check out experience of working with people who stammer. So much harm can be done if focusing on fluency as being the overarching goal. Much more helpful to focus on effective communication and that might mean accepting having a stammer in the first instance….that was more journey and I am 48 So incredibly important is not to finish sentences as this highlights the difficulty and often times you may say something your daughter wasn’t actually looking to say…this can become a deep source of shame leading to a huge amount of interpersonal difficulty I will post a link to a book that I can’t recommend highly enough - compiled by those who stammer and those working in the profession as speech and language therapists Keep us posted here moving forward
