Met someone with a stutter for the first time in my life today! A professional fraternity I’m in decided to join a coed indoor soccer league and field a team. I met one of my teammates and managed to give her my name without fucking it up, then I asked her for her name. I then hear her really struggle to say her first name, (Lainey). I chuckled a bit but noticed that may have made her feel bad. I reassured her saying I was just surprised and actually really happy to meet someone who has a stutter like I do. It was like meeting a long lost sibling. Anyway, I just wanted to share this cause I thought her stuttering when trying to say her name was extremely cute. I always thought that my stuttering instantly put people off when it came to interacting with me. But, I found her stuttering to be endearing :) It’s probably just because we have the same problem, so it’s like a connection. I’m glad to have made a friend who also stutters!
