As a long time stutterer, I asked this question myself, but then realised that I don't really need to distance myself from the stutter. I stutter the most when I tell my own name. My own identity. But that didn't put me down. I started working on things that made me happy. Embrace your stutter and only look forward to things in life that make you happy.
