Agreed. If a close friend or family member is 99% sure of the word I'm trying to say it is helpful if they say it because as soon as I hear it, I can say it and continue. However if they are wrong and keep guessing it moves the focus away from what I'm saying. So I only advise doing this if the person has specifically stated that it is helpful for them.
