Anyone else feel disrespected in different situations because of their stutter, but people will blame it on something else I've heard people making jokes about me behind my back, or even to my face as "jokes" saying that I'm **weird, unconfident, awkward etc**. On my more fluent days, or when I drink and my stutter disappears I am perceived as the exact opposite. It's not very common for me to hear these things fortunately, but I meant it more so that if someone who was friends with that person asked them why they didn't like me/made fun of me, I'm presuming that these are the reasons that they would give. They would much rather go after traits that are more socially acceptable to criticise, and the person saying it won't receive any backlash for insulting someone for a speech impediment. These words definitely feel like dogwhistles to me, because they can't just insult my stutter directly. Even then it doesn't mean you have to tolerate it. I am trying my best to stand up for myself but its not easy [View Poll](https://www.reddit.com/poll/wo7g2e)
