I don't see where I don't acknowledge these facts, I agree that there are different types of stuttering and maybe I put more emphasis on the psychogenic stuttering than other types of stuttering. However you have to get flexible with the term neurosis, which is basically a condition in which there is an unconscious conflict that manifests itself through a symptom. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jung%27s\_theory\_of\_neurosis](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jung%27s_theory_of_neurosis) (this is a definition, or a theory of what a neurosis is). The conflict in our case, is wanting to express anger, and at the same time being convinced that we have to control it, that we cannot express freely, we are kind of scared of it. We have grit, but we also unconsciously believe that we can't live it for some reason. Therefore when it's time to show aggression, to express it, we have an equal force that pushes us back. The attempt to speak regardless of this obstacle, this excessive tension felt on the mouth/throat, is what we call stuttering. This inner feeling of having something missing compared to others is what makes us stutter in speech, but also in life. We are exactly like other people, we just are more vigilant about our sense of freedom compared to others, but it can change, I'm sure. The anxiety of speaking that we feel, at a deeper level, has nothing to do with stuttering, it has to do with how we live the relationship, we have all wrong and confused ideas about it. I believe all the people in this sub know already how to speak well, it may be alone, singing, with certain people, while explaining something they are competent at, everybody knows about them. The meaning of our stuttering, is to signal us the wrong attitude we are putting towards life, this hopelessness, this excessive inner criticism that doesen't complement with the tasks of life that are presented to us. Stuttering is just the manifesting piece of a whole series of inner obstacles. I don't have a scientific background, you seem smart but I read a lot, and this is my interpretation. I had the same views that you had but I cannot help myself not to write this, I'm typing automatically: if I could only make you feel what I felt by understanding this, I would be very happy. Don't discard this view on the problem, you will experience the sunrise of your life coming. If you feel it doesen't make any sense what I just wrote, just don't think about it, trust yourself.
