If this ever happens again, take the issue to an administrator. Any institution is at risk of a lawsuit for bringing attention to someone's speech impediment in a negative light. I assure you, an administrator will bring an end to that quickly. I remember how hard it was at 19 trying to learn how to navigate the world under the radar. I'm 30 now and it's still hard sometimes.
