I have arguably the most extreme stutter there is—a neurogenic stutter—which encompasses the entire range of symptoms, blocking, prolongation, repetition, aphasia, etc.—and I’m currently in a plays, and cast in another. Both musicals. When it happens on stage, it happens. Stutterers exist, my character has one, it’s given no attention. The only comments I’ve ever gotten are how well I play someone with a stutter. Theater is tough, rejection is constant and actors still fight against all the odds. Go for it, do what you love. we don’t get represented enough
