Stutter question: how to shift into a ready state (from an inhibitory state)? (rather than simply trying to reduce fear of stuttering). STUTTER QUESTION During an excessive error-avoidance response. Where we rely on the need to avoid (i.e., reduce) a certain level of stimuli (such as, fear of stuttering, fear of judgements etc). Such a STOP signal could trigger an approach-avoidance conflict, which biases striatal gating toward an inhibitory state in the basal ganglia. What we need, then, is a way to flip the system back into a “ready” or “go” state. **The central question, TO everyone who reads this post, becomes: how do we shift our subconscious mind into a ready state?** ***(rather than simply trying to avoid the STOP signal).*** *States:* * Go state / direct-pathway (facilitatory) state * No-go state / indirect-pathway (suppressive) state * Tonic-inhibition state * Disinhibited / permissive state * Reactive stop state (hyperdirect stop) * Proactive inhibitory (cautious) state https://preview.redd.it/l38jhd9aqcuf1.jpg?width=901&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=81468ba9c6d223581c95fc299c259c1e08322ca6
