I’ve worked in schools and knew many school speech therapists and none of them received training in treating dysfluency. I spent a decade “taking a deep diaphragm breath” and my dysfluency actually got much worse. After learning from a SLP who is trained in dysfluency (and who also taught themself to speak fluently!), I now *exhale*, which clears a block 98% of the time. It starts working almost immediately, and as long as you remember a few other things, you will only get more fluent, and quickly. The science of speech and of panic backs this up as well.
