Oh, I see you're not into relativizing the term "suffering" a bit, then. It's become something you predicate about people way worse off. Gotcha. :) I would've told you that stutter is indeed suffering, because it's a constant source of frustration, anxiety and embarrassment. Of course, this doesn't mean anyone should "give up". It just means it's ok to recognize that something's amiss, and that we don't have to force ourselves to *not* talk about it that way. At least, I think there's some sort of mental component here that could be different - and perhaps, easier - if you approached it differently. Like, you could receive pity, when someone directs it at you. Pity isn't straight up a bad thing. Consolation neither. :)
