It can be as simple as just narrating your daily activities. Like tonight, as I was cleaning up, I was saying out loud “ok, I am going to put these cups in the dishwasher, then wipe down the countertop”, etc. it also helps on trying to focus to relax the tension in my throat and jaw and making sure I’m breathing from my diaphragm and not just my upper lungs, because a lot of times even when I’m fluent, I still hold tension in my throat, chest, and mouth and I still breathe shallowly. When I’m talking to people, it’s harder to focus on all of those things at once but when I’m just talking to myself, I’m not concerned with others watching or what I’m going to say so I can concentrate more on the mechanics of me taking.
