Yes! One of my top tricks is actually for the Y sound. Try starting with a soft "e" sound and then blend it into the "Y" sound. So if you want to say "Yes" or "You", you pronounce it like "ee-yes" or "ee-you". People can't hear the "e" sound at all and it blends very smoothly into the "Y" sound. I used to always block when I go straight for the "Y" but starting with a soft "e" gets the vocal chords started. Hope this helps!
