Just to clarify: I don’t stutter in the mainstream sense of the word, but I suffer from silent blocks due to psychological trauma. I think that a stutter or a block is caused by a misinterpretation of social cues and situations. What do I mean by that? For example in your head you are measuring a certain situation- let’s say u are answering your teacher. So before u start physically speaking u are already evaluating the timeline- if u are gonna block on this word etc etc and mainly how long u are ,,allowed,, to speak. The word ,,allowed,, is really crucial here, because due to this issue we have developed a fear or speaking in a sense that non stutters or non blockers in my case just don’t seem to understand, because it’s so deeply rooted in our subconscious. If u wanna learn more about my theory on this id love to share on a personal message.
