Stuttering and respect in the workplace Hey everyone just venting a bit here. I’ve stuttered for 25 years of my life so far. This year it is the worst it’s ever been. Nevertheless I get through life and work. I’m a salesman by trade and I’ve been at my current work for 10 years now. The company recently closed many branches and staff has been combined. The owner has assured me I would be in charge of everything after the merger. Ever since then I realize that is not the case. My duties are “x” when I go to do “x” I find out it’s already done by someone else. The owner seems to not want me to do the work. Maybe my 10 years experience is nothing compared to this new persons 1 year. I don’t know why but is hurts to my core. I would rather they fire me than treat me like I’m no good because I have a stutter.
