Those days were always the worst! I often skipped the first day of class because I knew that we were going to have to introduce ourselves. Before the second class started I would just go up to the teacher and introduce myself 1x1 and apologize for missing the first day. My excuse was always an illness or a family emergency (I know thats terrible, but it was a dark time for me). There was one day during finals where we had to give a presentation as a group, and each person had to introduce themselves before starting. I was so nervous I almost blacked out, which in turn made my stutter 100000x worse. I could barely get my first name out and it went something like, "J-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-jeff". Felt like I was up there for eternity. My life has gotten much better since then because I've learned to just live with it and accept myself for who I am. That doesn't mean I never get anxious anymore, but it just doesn't affect me as deeply.
