I would encourage you to get help. There are a lot of crisis helplines (ironically difficult for us to use) that could help you to reframe the problems you are facing. You are holding down a job which is something a lot of people that stutter struggle with. That’s amazing. You called your insurer to sort something, you didn’t shy away from that. Your mother gave an assist to get you over the line. That’s fine. My partner does the same from time to time. At your job you see the odd smirk. Honestly, I think you are overthinking and stuck in your own head. Stuttering is a hidden disability. People do not expect it and through no malice often react with an awkward smile or frown. This is rarely a judgment on you. Stutters can often make this worse because the coping mechanisms they lean on can look odd. I would encourage you to look for both counselling and some speech therapy. There is a book called self therapy for the stutterer by Malcolm Fraser. It is free and might help you to put your stutter into perspective. Shoot me a DM if you want chat on discord or play some games.
