Often these courses are taught by SLPs with limited experience and understanding of the depths of complexities of stuttering. In the US, we get 1/2 semester at the undergraduate level of coursework in stuttering. The challenge is what they teach as interventions in a course like that is only just enough to begin learning how to really work with stuttering.
