OP, have you accepted that you’re a person who stutters (PWS). OP, happy you found this subreddit. Go onto The National Stuttering Association’s (NSA) website at https://www.westutter.org. The NSA is another great resource to help you find a SLP. Also on the middle of the NSA’s website there is a link to finding a local chapter. The chapters are NSA chapters for PWS, and it’s 100% free to attend. The are support groups for stutters. Usually meet once a month or sometimes multiple times per month, OP. I would suggest contacting the hospital you go to and inquire about the psychiatrists that are associated with the hospital. Finally come back to this subreddit group to vent or just talk. OP, I am 47, and I am a severe stutterer. Stuttering has been hell in my life. But what I find that helps me is that helping other stutters out there with places to go and hopefully find the help they are seeking. Unfortunately OP, at this time there is no magic pill that will fix the wiring issues in our brain that causes one to stutter. I am the only one in my family on both my parents side that ever was a stutter. Good luck OP. David
