It's pretty ignorant of them to say I guess. But they're ignorant / oblivious to how you feel about it. In the end they're just trying to be empathetic. No need to get pissed off about that. The wheelchair comment was a bit much. People wheelchair bound cannot walk at all. Us people who stutter still have the ability to talk.
