Ive heard great things about Steph Hirsch. There are certainly bad BCS-F therapists (cough cough, original post cites one) but on the other end, at least it is a good measuring stick as compared to a general CCC-SLP, who in theory might have never been exposed to any disfluency training. I always tell people it's like this. Do you want a professional makeup artist assessing if your mole may be cancerous or a dermatologist? However, within those categories, there are bad dermatologists and who knows, maybe there's an untrained makeup artist that has some way to detect. But I get the gist of what you are saying and somewhat agree.
