Is it better to speak fast and openly stutter or to speak slow with pauses at certain words you struggle with? Hey I'm new here. So I've been stuttering since childhood and I never really thought about it much until now because I'm gonna be moving abroad soon and potentially meet people who might not accept me cuz of my stutter. I don't really care about being embarrassed or shamed publicly or anything but networking and building good connections is something I greatly prioritize. And obv that requires some social competence and i'm scared that my stutter will hinder that. Where I'm from, the majority of people speak really fast and I'm afraid I won't be able keep up at their pace and they'll think that talking to me is a waste of time. So like the title says, Is it better to speak fast and openly stutter or to speak slow with pauses at certain words you struggle with? Btw as you might've noticed I'm not a native english speaker but I stutter with all the languages I speak lol. Any tips on how to minimize it would be appreciated!!
