Relationships are the only thing I’ve never struggled in. Been married for 8 years now. It’s very rare to meet someone that stutter. My dad stutters and I’ve met 3 other people. The most recent was this at the time 27 year old female at one of my kid’s birthday party. She overheard me talking to my wife and came up to me. Instantly knew she stuttered. She was so happy to meet someone else that stuttered. You could tell she was alone. She had a stutter worse then me but I was the same way at her age. She was brave and worked as a cashier at chic fil a in the MALL. I could never lolOnly one in her family that stutters. Her parents were good friend. They really didn’t understand and didn’t sympathize that much. Was always you can do whatever it is you want too. At the time I was Actjve Duty military and wanted to join. She saw me as a success story but I was honest with her and told her I just started being somewhat confident. We would all have dinners together her parents were always saying you don’t stutter much, how do you do it. It got better over time but I really just got great at masking it. When my dad and I are together, we are two broken records having a good time lol. A wise man once told, when you are in a position of power or very knowledgeable, just talk, they will listen. That is my current situation now and that is indeed true. One of the most important guy I met with a stutter was a jiu jitsu instructor. He also spoke at colleges. He just told me, it will always be a part of you, you just have to say fuck it and just talk. The black belt instructor son actually stuttered but you would never know because he literally would not speak. A great dude but you can tell he been through a lot. He took up martial arts to kick some ass and boy was he talented!
