Hmm fair enough. I can see why some would find this cute. I don't know how he will take this compliment though so what you are planning to do is a good approach. I am not sure how I would react if someone tells me my stutter is cute. I would be like really? But now that you have explained it from women's perspective, I would understand and just say that it's appreciated.
