As a person who stutters, you are protected under the ADA (I’m assuming you live in the US, I apologize if you don’t). If you are fired because you stutter, as long as the company hired you knowing that you stuttered, you can seek compensation from said company. I know this is easier said than done, but have you looked for jobs that aren’t customer facing? There’s plenty of entry level positions that aren’t in retail or sales. I’m going to provide what is probably considered an unpopular opinion on this sub. No on is going to help you get over your anxiety about your stutter except you. It takes time and practice to develop a skin thick enough to where it doesn’t bother you any more. The easiest way that helped me deal with anxiety is advertising. I tell anyone and everyone that will listen that I stutter. I am open with people and will indulge their curiosities and answer any questions they have. I’ve made a point of starting conversations with strangers. It sucked at first, and I was terrified, but the more you do something, the easier it gets. Good luck to you. I’d like to say it’ll get better with time, but that depends on how much you want it to get better. You control the narrative of your life, not your stutter.
